For Shenmue I & II on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Milkman Playeth: Shenmue 1". The game is set in a 3D environment that can be freely explored by the player. Everyone has a different outlook on what would've made it a true sequel to Shenmue 2. IGN's Shenmue I & II guide has collectible locations for every hidden item in Shenmue I & II. I did some research and I think the reason that money doesn't carry over is because the HD release is a combination of the original US release of Shenmue, while the 2nd didn't get a US release.
